I was genuinely impressed by the generous portions served here, offering a truly satisfying flavor and a massive amount of food for what you pay. Despite its modest size, this spot delivers incredibly flavorful dishes at very reasonable prices. The young women on staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. It's mostly set up for takeout, though there is a charming small outdoor porch if you prefer to dine on-site. I absolutely love Nacho Taco, a fantastic local Mexican spot right in historic Riverside. While parking in their lot can be limited, it's always easy to find a spot on a nearby side street. For those who, like me, appreciate a heads-up, here are a few things to know: the building itself is tiny, blue, and sits right on a corner; you'll enter through a sliding door and place your order at the counter; and for seating, they offer picnic tables both under an awning and some with umbrellas. What truly keeps me coming back time and again is the incredible array of exquisitely delicious vegan choices available. I also have a few dishes I'd highly recommend.

My recent visit left me thoroughly underwhelmed, especially considering the cost. The additional charge for vegan alternatives felt completely unjustified given the quality of the substitutions provided. The vegan sour cream, in particular, was a major letdown; it tasted strangely sweet and completely dominated every other flavor, making it one of the least appealing options I've encountered. A switch to a brand like Tofutti would make a significant improvement. Similarly, the vegan cheese lacked any discernible flavor whatsoever. There are far superior shredded vegan cheese options available, such as those from Follow Your Heart, that would elevate the experience. Even the vegan queso suffered from an odd, sweet profile. It's quite simple to create a genuinely good, and likely more cost-effective, vegan queso using nutritional yeast, oil, water, chili powder, and salt, blended and then heated. It's frustrating because vegan food doesn't inherently have to taste bad; it simply requires a bit of effort and research beyond random selections. While I appreciate the availability of vegan choices, there needs to be a genuine attempt to make them palatable. If the restaurant itself finds these vegan options unappetizing, it's puzzling why they would expect vegans to enjoy them, as we possess the same capacity for taste. I imagine that for your standard menu items, you meticulously sample and select the best ingredients, and that same dedication should extend to all food offerings, including vegan ones. I had genuinely high hopes for this meal, but the combination of the high price point and the unappetizing flavors ultimately led to a profound disappointment.

I was absolutely delighted with my order; the "Mexi-Fries" were truly fantastic. The service I received from Yah-Unity was exceptional, as she was incredibly polite and genuinely helpful. She offered excellent recommendations and made sure I felt completely taken care of throughout my visit, always with a warm and accommodating smile.

It's always a good sign when the facilities are spotless, and their bathroom was impeccably clean. A standout feature for me was the healthy vegan queso option, skillfully crafted from cashews, which added a fantastic touch. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the exceptional service from Unity, whose genuine smile and warm personality made a lasting impression and inspired me to write this review. It perfectly illustrates the adage that while the food initially attracts you, it's the remarkable service that encourages return visits. My sole suggestion would be to explore alternatives to the plastic packaging, as it feels both wasteful and less healthy, though I understand this might be due to city regulations. Overall, I highly recommend this place.
